Polyethylene terephthalate
The main component of PET cups is polyethylene terephthalate (PET, also known as PETE). This material is commonly found in containers such as mineral water bottles, beverage bottles, and cold drink cups.
Features
PET material is lightweight, transparent, and durable, suitable for disposable use. However, it deforms at 70°C and may release substances that are harmful to the human body, so it is not suitable for hot water or long-term exposure to high temperature.
Safety issues
PET material may release harmful substances at high temperatures, so it is not recommended for hot water or long-term exposure to high temperature. In addition, disposable plastic cups are not recommended for reuse to avoid health risks.
